Pot Light Patch & Small Damage Repair in Toronto & GTA

Invisible Ceiling Patches After Electrical, Pot Light, or HVAC Work

Your electrician installed your pot lights — now we make those holes invisible. Master of Ceilings is Toronto’s specialist in pot light patch repair and small ceiling damage repair.

Making Your Trades' Cuts Disappear

You just upgraded to recessed pot lights — beautiful modern lighting. Or maybe you had plumbing access cuts done, electrical rough-in work, HVAC vent installations, sprinkler system access, or chandelier removals. Now you have visible cuts and patches in your ceiling that need to be fixed properly before painting.

At Master of Ceilings, this is one of our most common service requests. We work with dozens of GTA electricians, plumbers, HVAC specialists, and sprinkler installers who refer their customers to us for invisible patch work. After 15+ years of focused ceiling work, we’ve patched thousands of pot light openings and ceiling access cuts across Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, and the entire GTA.

We use multi-layer plaster blending technique and Level 5 skim coat finish. Done right, you won’t see where the cut was — even under direct pot light illumination, which is the hardest test possible. Pot lights cast bright light directly on the ceiling surface, revealing any imperfection. Our patches pass this test. After hundreds of pot light and ceiling patch projects across the GTA, we know what it takes to make a repaired ceiling look like the hole was never there.

Every Type of Ceiling Patch We Handle

Why Our Patches Are Truly Invisible

How We Work With Electricians & Trades

Most patches happen AFTER your electrician finishes. Here’s the typical process:

01

Your electrician installs pot lights / plumber does access work / HVAC installer cuts vent openings

02

They give you our number (we work with many GTA trades)

03

We come 1-3 days later

04

We patch, plaster, blend, and paint

05

The work is completely invisible

Don’t have an electrician yet? We recommend using a licensed electrician for the electrical work. Once the electrician finishes, we handle all the ceiling patching, plastering, sanding and finishing. We don’t perform electrical work — we’re ceiling specialists.
We can also coordinate directly with your trade if helpful — exchanging text messages or calls about timing. Many GTA electricians have us on speed dial.

Do You Need to Paint the Whole Ceiling?

Sometimes yes, and we’ll tell you straight which one you need.

If your ceiling was painted recently and we can match the colour, we can often spot-paint just the patched area and you’ll never find it.

But if the ceiling is more than a few years old, the paint has aged — slightly yellowed, sheen changed — and a fresh patch of new paint will stand out even though the plaster work underneath is perfect. In that case, painting the whole ceiling is the only way to get a result you’re happy with.

We’ll look at it during the free quote and give you an honest answer, not the answer that sells the bigger job.

Meet Sony — The Master Behind Every Patch

Hi, I’m Sony. I founded Master of Ceilings in 2010 with one mission: bring true European craftsmanship to Toronto homes.

For over 15 years, my team and I have patched thousands of ceiling openings — across Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, and the entire GTA. I’ve closed up old fixture holes in century Riverdale homes. I’ve blended pot light cuts into living room ceilings in Markham. I’ve patched sprinkler access in downtown condos without the neighbours knowing we were there. Every ceiling teaches me something new.

“I treat every home like it’s my own. If it’s not perfect, I don’t leave.”

I’m on every job site personally. No subcontractors. No shortcuts. Just clean work, fair pricing, and patches you can’t find. When you call 647-972-4858, you talk to me. When my team arrives, I’m there. That’s how Master of Ceilings has been since day one, and that’s how it stays.

Pot Light Patch FAQs

How quickly can you patch after my electrician finishes?

Usually within 3-7 days, sometimes sooner. For simple pot light patches, we can often be there within 24-48 hours. Tell us when your electrician finishes and we’ll fit you into our schedule quickly.

Yes. We use multi-layer plaster blending with Level 5 skim coat finish. Even under direct pot light illumination (the hardest test), our patches should be invisible. 1-year workmanship warranty backs this up.

Yes, optional. Most customers want the patches painted to match existing ceiling color. We use Benjamin Moore premium paint and can color-match perfectly to your existing ceiling.

Yes. We bring a sample (small chip from existing ceiling), match the color precisely with Benjamin Moore color-match technology, and the patched area blends invisibly with the rest of the ceiling.

Depends on size and complexity. For standard pot light patches, we typically complete 6-12 patches in one day plus dryingtime. Larger patches take longer. We give you a clear timeline before starting.

Yes. That’s our standard. If you can see where the patch was made within the first year, we come back and fix it at no charge. Multi-layer feathering technique is what makes this possible.

Not always. If the ceiling is fairly new and we can match the paint, we spot-paint the patched area only. On older ceilings the paint has aged and a fresh spot will show, so painting the full ceiling gives a much better result. We’ll tell you which one your ceiling needs.

Yes. Removing pot lights leaves the same round openings as installing them. We patch, blend and finish so there’s no trace of where the light used to be.

Yes, but it’s worth a conversation. Matching old texture around a patch rarely looks right. Most customers prefer we smooth the whole ceiling instead — bigger job, much better result.

Yes. Every project includes a 1-year written workmanship warranty. If a patch cracks or shows within that year, we come back and fix it free.
